Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the happiest mien of all?!

As summer approaches and warm, beautiful days return, now is a good time to rethink our skincare routines! In winter, we need a protective cream that is rich in vegetable oils and butters to combat the cold, but summer calls for a lighter formula… That’s why we’ve created Happy Mien, a homemade face cream recipe perfectly suited to hot weather.

This light, hydrating cream cares for your face without adding shine. Suitable for all skin types, it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling fresh. In short, this homemade day cream is perfect for summertime!

Many of us here at Coop Coco have already adopted this DIY day cream. We love its freshness and the glowing complexion it gives us. Some of us scented ours with spring flowers or musk flower aromatic essence, while others opted for true lavender, ylang ylang, or rose geranium essential oils. Please don’t hesitate to share your choice of essential oil or aromatic essence with us!

With Happy Mien, you’ll adore looking in the mirror!

Good to know!

  • Damascus rose hydrosol tones the skin and is ideal for all skin types.

  • Aloe is not only an excellent hydrator; it also boosts skin regeneration. Aloe vera powder is very concentrated and easy to use. It keeps well if protected from humidity and it’s a breeze to rehydrate.

  • Gum arabic smoothes and protects skin from dehydration.

  • Glycerin is a good humectant ingredient offering prolonged hydration.

  • Olivem 1000 has many uses in this face cream recipe: it is the emulsifying agent, promotes hydration, and also gives the final product its light, creamy feel.

  • We strongly advise against using photosensitizing essential oils (lemon, sweet orange, lime, etc.) or dermocaustic essential oils (cinnamon, ginger, etc.).

  • If you would like to opt for an essential oil adapted to your skin type and its specific needs, consult our article on skincare routines. It provides a list of ingredients for each skin type.
